VOIPGO ARE A BUNCH OF CROOKS, BEWARE, MOST PLACE WHERE YOU HEAR PRAISE OF THEM IS RUNNED BY THEM….I signed up on 1st mar.09 and cancelled my account on 16 mar.09 for the following reasons: Very bad communication with frequent cut off, on the chat, the guy came from a very deep jungle and and could'nt understand me and did not try to do so, on e-mail, no answer, finaly cancelled, they told me by e-mail that “IF I WAS ILLIGIBLE THEY WOULD REFUND IN 4 TO 6 WEEKS” today is 18 aug.09, never heard anything from them, try to contact, no way, I consider that I will loose my money, I had paid for one year service in advance. SO PLEASE DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THOSES PEOPLES OR YOU GET SCAMMED.

Thanks, Samantha. I think a little part of me is disappointed every
time I run into yet another business who's only goal is profit, at any
cost.

My advice on credibility is not to get into the business of convincing
your potential clients to work with you. That is a long, hard battle
to pursue. Instead, give them reason to trust and desire to work with
you, without your convincing. You are a professional, have confidence
in that and others will too.

I haven't thought much about the difference between trust and credibility online but I'm going to think about how that applies to me. We worry a lot about looking professional (online) to be credible but perhaps it's the personal relationship we build with our clients/visitors that is much more important.

There is a scene from Fiddler on the Roof that has taught me more about life than most holy books I've read.

In it, two men are heatedly arguing over the age of a horse. When they see Tevye, the town milkman/sage, walking by, they begin passionately pleading their case.

"Tevye!" blurts the first, "I've been cheated! Last month a bought a horse from this sorry excuse for a man. He told me the horse was six, but it was 12!"

Tevye listens carefully, strokes his beard, nods his head, and smiles. "You're right!" he says.

"What!" screams the second. "No way! Not true! The horse I sold him was six years old and I have the papers to prove it!"

I agree, the whole thing could have been avoided if I wasn't so voice
shy. But it should also be noted that VOIPGo structured the site so
that there was no need to contact a human. They were quite clever in
their strategy. Everything you needed to know was available to you.
And as I am sure you experience, sitting on the phone can often be a
waste of time.

It was certainly a learning experience, nonetheless.
