Please keep going Tara, I love your voice, and i've listed your Web site as one of my favorites on my (as yet unwrapped and novice) blog. I think you are truly onto something with your blog, your choice of content, everything!

Jillian again

this is a great post -- and very to the point for me -- My BF's 11 year old daughter is a committed vegetarian for 2 1/2 years now, because she does not like the idea of hurting animals. i have found myself getting my back up & defensive when she insists on not using hcicken stock in her meals. in the past few weeks i have been questioning why HER commitment makes me so defensive, and concluded that it must mean only one thing. that i can't find any argument with her refusing to eat meat (i'm not even certain that she REQUIRES the protein from meat - haven't looked into it). eating meat DOES hurt animals, period. if you don't want to hurt animals, then you must stop eating meat. i'm not willing to do so (won't get into that) but your point is well taken. my annoyance was never with her, it was with myself - i plan to continue eating meat, and it bothers me that i know that in some way, it's wrong.
