Love this post! I thought I'd share a fun, related story:

Three years ago, I was working in Cubicle Land, dreaming of breaking free. Among my dreams were to start my own business and to host a radio show about living authentically. I crafted a proposal to present to a local talk radio station. In it, I included the lyrics to a possible theme song - "There's Gotta Be Something More" by a country band called Sugarland:

"Gotta be something more...gotta be more than this...I need a little less hard times...I need a little more bliss. I'm gonna take my chances...take every chance I might...

I scored a meeting with the radio station - in the middle of the work day - and pretended I had an appointment so I could go meet with the program director. But she never showed. I went back to Cubicle Land, feeling defeated. Then something miraculous happened. Later that afternoon, I attended a meeting with my boss. As we were walking back to our offices, he began singing my song. Out. Of. The. Blue. Said he'd heard it on TV the night before and it got stuck in his head.

What are the chances? I saw it as a sign. A really loud sign. I pulled the radio station proposal out of my briefcase and showed it to him right then. Within a month, he had convinced the powers that be in Cubicle Land to sponsor the show and, since money talks, the program was on the air three months later at the very station I had planned to pitch. Soon after, I left the Cubcile Land gig to focus on my radio show and I start my own business...and we're still humming along! :)

As someone who is currently retuning her signal, this has been a real validation for me. I love your broadcasts, Tara. Thank you :)

Oh, Tim, I couldn't agree more. And the exciting thing for me is that
I'm realizing this one of my gifts -- helping people find a clear
signal so they can rise above the noise.

Tara,
Great analogy. I think for small biz and innerpreneur the key will be rising above the noise. Helping people find a clear signal of their unique value/offer...
