Michael, I never knew of the story... isn't that funny?

It's about "our chains of thought and self imposed restraints" --
beautifully and succinctly put.

Thank you the learning and for the eloquent quotes.

"O wise humanity, terribly wise humanity! Of thee I sing. How
inscrutable is the civilization where men toil and work and worry
their hair gray to get a living and forget to play!"

Tara, -This lovely rebuild of a story named" The Chained Elephant" by Jorge Bucay- Argentinian writer and psychiatrist, illustrates very accurately our chains of thought and self imposed restraints. Conscious thought allows us to differ from animals and provides us with the ability to understand our miserable state, allowing us to choose, by trying very hard and persistently to change successfully, but only under one condition - That we deeply, from all our heart, believe that this can really happen, from the bottom of our hearts, giving it all the input we are capable of.
All nature loafs, while man alone works for a living. He works because he has to, because the progress of civilization life gets incredibly complex, with duties, responsibilities, fears, inhibitions and ambitions, born not by nature, but of human society. -O wise humanity, terribly wise humanity! Of thee I sing. How inscrutable is the civilization where men toil and work and worry their hair gray to get a living and forget to play!
