A (Creative) Culture in Motion

I received this intriguing question recently from a reader; "Do you know where this (Cultural Creative) concept stands today?" Where do we, the Cultural Creatives, stand today? From what I observe, we, and our ways of being and doing, are growing quietly. More and...

Systems Thinking My Way to Freedom

In order to write Pay What It's Worth, my first book of what I hope is many books, I needed to trick myself into not being so scared. I didn't believe I could do it. I didn't trust that I had what it took to fulfill a dream I'd held for so long. I couldn't see how I...

Beyond Right and Wrong

It's right. It's wrong. It's neither. It's just an option. It's just one way of doing things. It simply one way to approach something. Take it and/or leave it. It may be what I've done, and it may be what I'm doing, and it may be working for me, but it is still only...

Conclusions

When I feel I need to perform, my mind jumps to conclusions over and over about how YOU are interpreting and enjoying what I am doing or have done. Over and over I come up with negative judgements about what I have produced, and what YOU have decided. I can't be...

There Will Be No Miracles Here. Minds Will Not Be Changed.

miracles

A mind that is not open to change can not be changed.

You are looking for miracles if you try to change the mind of someone who:

  • totally does not agree with what you are saying and is happy with things as they are. You have nothing to connect with this person over and your ideas will hold no weight.

It Felt Right at the Time

regret

We all make mistakes, we can’t control the fact that we are imperfect. How we react to those mistakes, however, is ours to determine.

Useless regret

It’s easy to look back and chastise your Self for the choices you made — for the words you ‘shouldn’t’ have used or the actions you ‘shouldn’t’ have taken. 20 min to Your Life Purpose?

20min

It sounded too cool to be true. In around 20 min or so I can realize my true life purpose. All I have to do is sit down and write it out. This is according to Lifehacker who is quoting blogger Steve Pavlina.

Blogger Steve Pavlina says that you can discover your life’s purpose in as little as twenty minutes. To do so, complete the following four steps:

1. Take out a blank sheet of paper or open up a word processor where you can type.
2. Write at the top, “What is my true purpose in life?”

Burning Down Business-as-usual

bazaar

Commerce is a natural part of human life but over time it has become increasingly unnatural. As commerce advanced, it was determined that being human was a detriment to business. Business-as-usual became the isolation of an enterprise from its very foundation and lifeblood, its workers and customers. Humans became demographics to be talked at, not with.

Business forgot that markets are conversations between humans.

Everything You’re Not

genius

… is a waste of your time.

I used to think I could be anything I wanted to be. But in reality I knew that made no sense. Now I know why. You can’t be anything you want to be.

No matter how hard I try, some things I just don’t excel in. Some things come harder to me. Well, ‘who cares’?

Society has long emphasized that we focus on and improve on our weaknesses.
